Biography Maeve E. Riordan joined Donohue Brown Smyth LLC as an associate attorney in April 2026. Ms. Riordan graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2025 with a concentration in trial advocacy. During law school, Ms. Riordan served on the Executive Board of UIC’s Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution program and participated in numerous mock trial competitions across the country. Ms. Riordan’s team won first place in UIC’s 1L Mock Trial Competition in 2023, setting the tone for her later award of Best Advocate in 2024. While in law school, Ms. Riordan worked as a law clerk at a plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice firm in Chicago. She also served as an Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 student attorney for the Cook County Special Prosecutions Unit. Ms. Riordan graduated with cum laude honors from the University of Illinois Chicago with a B.A. in Public Policy, and a minor in political science. At UIC, Ms. Riordan held a leadership position on the NCAA Division One Women’s Soccer team, earned Dean’s List honors in multiple semesters, and was awarded the Chancellor’s Service Award, the Credit 1 Scholarship, and induction into the Honorary Activities Society. In her free time, Ms. Riordan is passionate about running, music, and traveling.
