Biography
Ashley Dus concentrates her practice in professional liability. She has extensive experience defending physicians, hospitals, medical clinics, and other healthcare professionals. Since becoming an attorney in 2016, Ms. Dus has chaired several medical malpractice trials to a verdict. She has taken and defended depositions of medical professionals, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses. Ms. Dus has achieved excellent results for clients through jury verdicts, disposition motions, pre-trial motions, directed verdict motions and alternative dispute resolution. Since joining the firm, Ms. Dus has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and by Best Lawyers as One to Watch based on excellence and peer recognition from other attorneys in Illinois.
Ms. Dus joined the firm as an associate following her graduation magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2016. At Illinois, Ms. Dus earned four CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for her academic excellence in Legal Writing & Analysis, Negotiation Skills & Strategies, Family Law, and Children, Culture & Violence. During her third year of law school, Ms. Dus was awarded two Rickert Awards for her Excellence in Legal Writing and for her Excellence in Service. The Rickert Awards are the most prestigious awards conferred upon students at the University of Illinois College of Law.
In 2024, Ms. Dus became a Partner of DBS. Ms. Dus is licensed in the state of Illinois and in the Northern District of Illinois.
Ms. Dus is passionate about defending the practice of medicine and is dedicated to her clients. In her free time, Ms. Dus enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She is also an avid runner, having completed several Bank of America Chicago marathons.
