Donohue Brown Smyth LLC is pleased to welcome Colleen K. Mattrey as Senior Counsel. Ms. Mattrey concentrates her practice on the defense of medical malpractice and healthcare liability claims. With more than 20 years of legal experience, she represents hospitals, physicians, nurses, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals in complex litigation matters. She is a seasoned trial attorney with extensive experience defending high-exposure medical malpractice claims and achieving favorable results for her clients. Before relocating to Chicago, Ms. Mattrey also served as outside general counsel for several large practice groups in New York advising them on compliance and risk management strategies.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Mattrey is a frequent speaker on risk management, healthcare liability, and litigation-related issues. Since 2014, she has served as Adjunct Faculty at the University at Buffalo School of Law, where she teaches Trial Technique and helps prepare future trial attorneys.
Ms. Mattrey earned her J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law and is admitted to practice before all New York State courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of New York, and the State of Illinois.
