Biography
Emily J. Thornton is an associate at Donohue Brown Smyth LLC and is licensed to practice in both Illinois and New Mexico.
Ms. Thornton graduated from Notre Dame University College of Law in 2025. While at Notre Dame, she was a member of the Barrister’s Mock Trial Team and received the Arthur M. May Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Before joining DBS, Ms. Thornton was an associate at a medical malpractice defense firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she handled a variety of medical negligence cases on behalf of health care providers and hospital systems.
Ms. Thornton earned her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Washington in Seattle.
